Milina, situated 49 km away from Volos, is a picturesque little seaside village which combines simplicity and tranquillity with modern facilities.

All along the coast, visitor can enjoy the little bays with their clear green waters and their splendid views of the mountain. In the surrounding area, you can also find Valtoudi which is a small, natural port with two small islands, "Alatas" and "Prassoudas".

In Milina, you will find restaurants and tavernas where you can sample a variety of local snacks. During the summer, the night-life is lively with plenty of bars staying open until way past after midnight. Moreover, visitors can enjoy some of the many cultural activities that take place during the tourist season.

Things to do

Visit Lafkos, a semi-mountainous village, 7 km from Milina. Hikers can follow a circular path from Milina to Lafkos and back to Milina, using the two different paths that connect the villages. The local tour operators organise cruises to the Pagasitikos Gulf and there are excursions to Pelion and the rest of Magnesia.

The beaches of Milina, Alatas and Prassouda all offer excellent swimming and it's possible to rent a pedalo.

• The Agios Andreas settlement, 2 km from Milina, where the ruins of ancient "Olizon" were discovered;
• The Agioi Saranta monastery in Alatas;
• The Zoodohos Pigi monastery in Prassouda;
• The Temple of Agios Athanasios with great mosaics;
• The Temple of Agia Marina, which is considered to have been a temple of the nymph, Thetida
